Hartmut Eltgen

Hartmut Rudolf Eltgen (born October 7, 1967 in Krefeld- Inrath) is a German lyricist and singer.

biography

Hartmut Rudolf Eltgen studied physics for several years after completing his training as an electrician . In 1990 he founded the thrash metal group Last Rites with the songwriter and biologist Thomas Gabriel , for which he wrote political, time-critical and sometimes humorous texts about everyday situations that play with linguistic stylistic devices. Despite some good reviews, Last Rites was unable to achieve commercial success.

In the meantime Eltgen made his living as a drummer roadie with the band Blind Guardian , although he wasn't actually a drummer. In 1997, Last Rites and Eltgen separated, who ended his artistic career. He has lived in Bochum since then .
