Hartmut Vogel

Hartmut Vogel (* 1936 in Berlin ; † August 22, 1991 ) was a senior ministerial official in the Federal Ministry of the Interior and head of the literature department in the culture department.

Life

He studied law at the University of Göttingen and received his doctorate in 1960. From 1970 he worked in the culture department of the Federal Ministry of the Interior, where he worked as a senior ministerial official and head of the literature department.

Hartmut Vogel is considered the founding father and spiritus rector of the Working Group of Literary Societies and Memorials (ALG), the umbrella organization of around 220 literary societies and literary museums today. The ALG was founded on an initiative by Hartmut Vogel in 1986, and W. Solms was elected to its board of directors. In memory of its sponsor, the ALG awards the Hartmut Vogel Prize , which is awarded every two years for outstanding services to literature work or exemplary innovative projects.
