Hartmut Wedekind (swimmer)

Hartmut Wedekind (born June 16, 1964 in Duisburg ) is a German swimmer and Olympic participant. The 1.87 m tall and 92 kg heavy athlete started for the Bochum-Wattenscheid sports club .

In 1986 and 1987 he won the 200 m breaststroke title.

He took part in the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , but failed in the run-up (his time of 2: 22.55 minutes meant 31st place among 54 participants in the overall ranking).

In 2014 Wedekind - starting for SV Bayer Uerdingen 08 - won the 50m breaststroke title in the Masters class at the NRW Championships in Lünen . His personal best over this distance is 30.90 seconds.
