The Harvard-Yenching Institute ( Chinese  哈佛 燕京 學 社  /  哈佛 燕京 学 社 , Pinyin Hāfó Yānjīng Xuéshè ) is a foundation established by Harvard University and Yanjing University in 1928 for academic education in social sciences in East and Southeast Asia Founded. The establishment was initiated by Charles Martin Hall . Despite its location on the Harvard campus, the institute is financially and legally independent.
