Harzburg II

Harzburg II was a municipality-free area in the district of Goslar until December 31, 1979 .

The area comprised the part of the Upper Harz , which until 1946 belonged to the Harzburg office in the Wolfenbüttel district ( Free State of Braunschweig ). Until June 30, 1972, the municipality-free area Harzburg I was located to the east , which merged with the other municipalities to form the city of Bad Harzburg . Harzburg II fell on March 1, 1974 to the district of Goslar and finally merged on January 1, 1980 together with the other unincorporated areas in the district to form the unincorporated Harz area .
