Hash oil (also hash oil or THC oil ) is an oil-like extract that is mostly high in THC . Like hashish, it is obtained from the resin of the inflorescences, which come from the female hemp plant ( cannabis ). Hash oil is used both as a medicine and as an intoxicant .

Due to the high content of active ingredients, hash oil is the most potent of all cannabis products (mostly between 15 and 20 percent, but sometimes reaches 60 to 70 percent). Purity tests from the Federal Criminal Police Office showed THC levels of 5 to 41 percent.

Demarcation

Hash oil is to be distinguished from hemp oil (obtained from the seeds of industrial hemp ) and essential hemp oil (obtained by distillation from hemp leaves and flowers).

Contrary to what is often assumed, hash oil is a resin extract and not a real oil because it is not made of fat . The real, fatty edible oil of the hemp plant, on the other hand, is the non-intoxicating hemp oil; therefore the two should not be confused with one another.

Legal status

In Germany it is subject to the Narcotics Act . In addition to the other cannabis products, hash oil only plays a subordinate role in terms of quantity. With low-THC hemp varieties such as Charlotte's Web , the extract is correspondingly low in THC.
