Hasenberg Tunnel (Gäubahn)

The Hasenberg tunnel is a railway tunnel of the Gäubahn in Stuttgart . The 258.0 m long structure was built between 1875 and 1876 and is located between the kilometers of lines from 8.920 to 9.180 in a curve.

The tunnel is used daily in both directions by 14 long-distance passenger trains , 36 regional trains and one S-Bahn (as of 2014). The permissible speed is 70 km / h.

On the four-stage condition rating scale from DB Netz , the structure was classified in Category 2 in 2008, 2014 and 2017 (“Major damage to the structure that does not affect safety”).

The structure crosses layers of Keuper and marl gypsum.
