Hāschim Gharāyba ( Arabic هاشم غرايبة, DMG Hāšim Ġarāyiba , often Hashem Ghareibeh ; * 1953 in Hauwara , Jordan ) is an Arabic writer .

During his studies of the "dental laboratory science" at the University of Baghdad from 1970 to 1975 he joined the communist student association. He then taught at the High Medical Institute in Irbid , Jordan, but was sentenced by Jordan to ten years' imprisonment in 1978 for membership of the Communist Student Union in Baghdad, of which he served eight. In 1988 he resumed his studies and graduated in economics in 1990 . Today he works as a dental technician and writer in Jordan.

Haschim Gharayba is a columnist for the Jordan weekly newspaper ar-Ra'i and the newspaper al-Quds al-arabi .
