Hathor-Neferhetepes (also Hat-Hor-nefer-hetepes ), with the second name Tepes , was the wife of the high official Chabausokar ( 3rd dynasty ).

Name and titles

The name of Hathor-Neferhetepes is based on the goddess Hathor . Her middle name, Tepes, is unusual . She also bore the title Rechet-nesu ("royal confidante"), first documented at the beginning of the Old Kingdom .

supporting documents

Relief- decorated false doors from Hathor-Neferhetepes have survived . They show the deceased once sitting at a sacrificial table and twice on the left and right of the false door in a standing pose. She wears a skin-tight robe and a shoulder-length curly wig . The chapels of Chabausokar and Hathor-Neferhetepes are among the earliest surviving, relief-decorated cult chapels from ancient Egypt.

dig

Like Chabausokar, Hathor-Neferhetepes was buried in the mastaba S3037 in Saqqara .
