Sabine Haubitz and Stefanie Zoche were a German artist duo.

life and work

The artists Sabine Haubitz and Stefanie Zoche have been working together since 1998 and positioned themselves in the international art scene under the name Haubitz + Zoche with their photographic and installation work. Sabine Haubitz had a fatal accident in March 2014. Stefanie Zoche will continue the work that bears the signature of both artists in her own name.

Sabine Haubitz (1959–2014) studied art in Berlin and Munich, Stefanie Zoche (* 1965) in Perpignan and London. From 1998 to 2014 they worked as an artist duo in the fields of photography, video sculpture and room installation. Dealing with the urban space and raising awareness of the mechanisms that work in it was a central concern of the artists. In the later years of cooperation, issues such as climate change and the use of resources also moved into the focus of their work.

Haubitz + Zoche were represented with their work in numerous national and international exhibitions (see web links ), in 2012 their video sculpture "Vertigo" was presented at the Havana Biennale. Their photo book “Sinai Hotels” was awarded the German Photo Book Prize in 2007, and for their artistic work they received a. a. the Kodak sponsorship award, project grants from the cultural work of VG Bild Kunst and the cultural department of the City of Munich. In 2011 they were nominated for the Prix Pictet.
