The Hauni Maschinenbau GmbH is an internationally active German manufacturer of machinery and equipment for the tobacco industry ( cigarette makers ). The name "Hauni" is an acronym for " Ha nseatische Uni verselle", based on the former employer of the company founder, the Universelle-Werke Dresden .
history
The company was founded in 1946 by Kurt A. Körber and is therefore the parent company of Körber AG , with its headquarters in Hamburg-Bergedorf .
In 1956 the MAX filter tipper was developed. Hauni thus achieved its breakthrough on the international market.
In 1970, the company ECH Will in Hamburg, a well-known manufacturer of paper processing machines, was taken over, laying the foundation for diversification in the paper and tissue sector. In 1978, the takeover of the grinding machine manufacturer Blohm in Hamburg took place and the entry into the machine tool sector began. In 1979 the French cigarette machine company Decouflé, Paris, was taken over. In 1987 the Hauni-Werke were converted into Körber AG and all parts of the company were combined in Körber AG.
In 2007 a world record was achieved with the PROTOS-M8 filter cigarette production line in an endurance test. 9.37 million cigarettes were produced in just one shift. In 2013, the Borgwaldt company was taken over, thereby expanding its expertise in modern measuring and analysis devices and in the flavor area.
