Hauptsache Gesund is an advisory magazine for the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk on the subject of “human health”. The magazine will be broadcast on MDR television on Thursdays at 9:00 p.m.
The program has been moderated since 2015 by the doctor, Carsten Lekutat . The program was previously presented by Franziska Rubin , who gave up moderation in the summer of 2015 because she emigrated to Australia with her family. One or more doctors or other specialists are guests on the show. These answer questions about a specific health topic. The viewer can ask questions or share his experiences and is thus included in the course of the program. There is also a journal for the broadcast.
On February 19, 2009 the 500th, on April 28, 2011 the 600th and on October 16, 2014 the 750th program was broadcast.
criticism
The program criticized the fact that the former presenter Franziska Rubin was said to have been too close to the pharmaceutical industry and pharmacists' associations. The studio guest pharmacist Friedemann Schmidt , the vice-president of the Federal Association of German Pharmacists' Associations (ABDA), was one of the regular guests of the program, without his position as the top functionary of this lobby association being disclosed. Schmidt had temporarily taken over the moderation of the show.
