Collection road

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A collecting road is a municipal road that leads traffic from the residential roads in residential or commercial areas to a main road. Collection roads that collect traffic from several residential areas are also called residential collection roads . The designation industrial collection line is used according to the same principle .

Although the collecting road collects traffic, it also takes on development functions. According to the guidelines for integrated network design (RIN), it is categorized as an access road ES IV.

The main collecting road assumes a higher-level function . It is a locally important inner-city road that creates a connection between different districts. According to the RIN, this is no longer an access road, which is why an allocation of the road construction costs by the municipality in accordance with Section 127 BauGB is not possible.
