House Beck

Haus Beck was a mansion in Pelkum , today a district in the Hamm-Pelkum district of the city of Hamm . It was demolished during the 19th century.

history

The Beck house was in the parish of Pelkum, west of the village on the road that leads from Hamm to Kamen . The noble house was not one of the knight seats eligible for the state assembly, but was exempt from personnel charges. The von Hausen family had owned the property since the 17th century. The first Mr. von Beck was Johann von Hausen, son of a Hammer mayor, who lived in the first half of this century. Johann's grandson Diedrich von Hausen married Maria Helana von Brüninghausen and in this way came into the possession of the Kettinghausen estate in Westerbönen . This was still connected to Haus Beck in 1804 .

In 1773 the house, which was surrounded by a fishable ditch, was valued at 400 thalers. A second moat moved a place occupied by fruit trees. A century later, Heinrich Schulze-Pelkum acquired von Hausen's property in Pelkum. At this time the buildings no longer existed, but the moats were still clearly visible.

State of preservation

Today the area is leveled. There are no more visible remains of the manor house.
