location

The Hackenscheid settlement is located about 1,500 meters northeast of Altenbochum. The estate was located on the western edge of the four or five farmsteads settlement. There is now a new building at the same location.

history

Around 1340 there is a Theodoricus de Havekenschede in the documents. The documents name a Diderich in 1437. On November 23, 1470, Wilhem van Limborch to Stierhem enfeoffed Dirich van Havekeschede (* around 1430; † before 1485), son of the late Diriche, with the estate of Havekeschede in the parish and court of Boichem . The measuring grain register from 1513 mentions a Dirick from Havekenschede. Elisabeth, Melchior von Havkenscheid's daughter, brought the estate into her marriage to Goswin von Düngelen, who also owned the Dahlhausen house .

When the line of Düngelen zu Dahlhausen expired in 1809, Haus Havkenscheid and Haus Dahlhausen came to the Schragmüller family in Bochum. Around 1810 a charcoal burner lived on the estate. The mansion fell into complete disrepair in the following years. The remains of the property were sold to the City of Bochum in 1921 and demolished in 1982.
