Todays use
Aniello Scarpati, who previously ran a restaurant in Lüntenbeck Castle , took over the villa in 1982. He renovated and expanded it and since then has been running a small hotel with a restaurant with his wife, which is divided into two areas: the elegant Scarpati and the smaller trattoria. The restaurant also enjoys a good reputation across Germany, with the Scarpati being the first restaurant in Wuppertal to be awarded a coveted star in the Michelin Guide . In 2010 it was awarded 16 out of 20 possible points in the Gault-Millau restaurant guide .
