history

The short Metzer Strasse was planned in 1890 and expanded around 1910. The two-storey, plastered villa with a mansard roof was built in 1910/12 at the turn of the century in the reform style for the lawyer Ed. Meyer built. The house with the basement has a large bay window with a balcony on the garden side.

The State Office for Monument Preservation Bremen wrote: “... The design carried out by the architect Richard Streller was influenced by the building advice commission chaired by Emil Högg . Högg was a founding member of the Lower Saxon People's Association and director of the Gewerbemuseum and had a decisive influence on the reform architecture in Bremen before 1914, the principles of which can be seen in the Metzer Strasse building. "

In 1974 conversion work took place for the new use as a day-care center (among other things instead of coke now gas heating). Since 1987 the house has been part of the neighboring private Waldorf School at Touler Strasse 3.

Today (2018) the house is used by the private Psychoanalytic Institute Bremen .
