Haus Pesch was a mansion in Pier , a former part of the municipality of Inden in the Düren district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

House Pesch was entered under No. 30 in the list of monuments of the municipality of Inden .

history

The name Pesch in relation to the Piers area was first mentioned in a document in 922 and probably indicates the Pesch house in Pier. Furthermore, from 1306 to 1806 Haus Pesch had the right of patronage to the parish St. Ursula in Bonsdorf, which was dissolved in 1806 (belonged to Pier from 1806).

Haus Pesch was a building from the 16th to 18th centuries, which was originally surrounded by moats. The facility was badly damaged in World War II and rebuilt after the war. The mansion had a corner tower with an octagonal dome and a lantern .

In December 2013, Haus Pesch was completely demolished. It had to give way to the Inden opencast mine , as did the entire town of Pier.
