Details of the east facade

The house at Rampische Strasse 33 was a baroque house built in Dresden in 1715. The corner house at the transition from Rampische Straße and the Salzgasse behind it to Tzschirnerplatz burned down in 1945, was blown up in 1956 and largely reconstructed in 2013 true to the original .

history

The building was acquired by Count August Christoph von Wackerbarth in 1714 , and a new building took place between 1715 and 1716 based on designs by Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann . As early as 1717 it came into the possession of Maria Aurora Spiegel , who, as Fatima from Turkey, was one of Augustus the Strong's mistresses from 1701 to 1706 .

description

Dresden, Rampische Str. 33

The four-storey corner house had three facades, a five-axis main facade facing Rampische Strasse, a three-axis top facade facing the Kurländer Palais and a four-axis side facade in Salzgasse. The five-axis main facade facing Rampische Strasse showed a three-axis central projection . The facade at the head of the building was structured in the same way as that on Rampische Strasse; The single-axis central projection of the three-axis head facade to the Kurländer Palais was particularly striking. This risalit was framed by pilaster strips on the side . The window frames of the risalit were designed as small pilasters and decorated with fantasy capitals and flowers hung underneath. The lintels were cranked and profiled stronger and more richly than on the main facade facing Rampische Strasse. The decor under the roofing of the windows was essentially similar to that of the main facade, but was much wider. The facade facing Salzgasse was only designed as an unadorned plastered facade due to its low urban significance and had a three-axis central projection. All three facades were joined together to form a unit thanks to the consistently continued beam parts.
