Stefan Hertzig

Stefan Hertzig (born November 18, 1966 in Saarbrücken ) is a German author and art and architecture historian .

Live and act

Stefan Hertzig was born to Manfred and Christel Hertzig. He attended elementary school in Mandelbachtal-Heckendalheim. He then graduated from Von-der-Leyen-Gymnasium in Blieskastel, where he graduated from high school in 1986. In the summer semester of 1988 he began studying art history, history and classical archeology at Saarbrücken University , which he completed in February 1995 with a master's degree. In 1999 he was a co-founder of the Society Historischer Neumarkt Dresden . He submitted his dissertation "The Dresden community center in the time of August the Strong" to Klaus Güthlein.

Hertzig worked from 1999 to 2001 and from 2004 to 2010 (partly freelance) at the Saxon State Office for Monument Preservation and from 2001 to 2002 at the Dresden Porcelain Collection. After working as a freelancer, he has been a research assistant at the TU Dresden (Institute for Art and Musicology, Chair Henrik Karge) since November 2013.
