House of the dairy farm
The former dairy farm is a listed building with the address Hirnbeinstraße 8 , formerly Wörthstraße , in the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) .
history
It was built in 1924/25 by the Kempten architect Otto Heydecker and served local agriculture; including the Allgäu Dairy Association , the Dairy Research Institute , the Allgäu Farmers' Association and the District Dairy Council .
From 1980 to 2004 the building was home to the South German Butter and Cheese Exchange , which was located in the Kornhaus from 1921 to 1980 . In 2004 she moved to a new building in the Bühl district . The Dairy Research and Research Institute (MUVA) also moved to these new premises in 2004, called the House of Milk .
description
The building is a hipped roof building with a rear extension and a gable. The design is modern and objective and contains classicistic elements . The entrance area consists of four fluted columns, above which is the inscription Haus der Milchwirtschaft . The windows are installed in continuous window niches.
