The House of Venus is an ancient Roman house of modest size in the Tunisian archaeological site of Thugga . The name of the house is derived from a mosaic in which a marine world with Venus and Cupids is shown. The house was built in the 2nd century and renovated several times and still shows signs of settlement in the 5th century. Remnants of the walls, loose stones and parts of the paving have been preserved. You can still see the remains of a central courtyard with porticos , as well as a bedroom. A vestibule opens up to another room decorated with a mosaic of plant pyramids. To the south there is another vestibule with a mosaic that shows guilloches and from which one can see the dining room, whose mosaic has disappeared. The House of Venus is accessible from the road that runs along the Dar Lacheb Temple .
