Hawaii Shingon Mission is a historically significant Buddhist temple in Honolulu , Hawaii .

In 1918 the temple of the Shingon-shū Buddhist school was completed by the architect Katsutarō Nakagawa. The building was designed in the style of Japanese architecture . In 1929 Hego Fuchino carried out a first renovation , which was followed by an extensive general overhaul in 1978. Hawaii Shingon Mission is one of five remaining historic Japanese-style temples in the state of Hawaii.

The temple was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 26, 2002 as a Historic Monument .
