Hawkins Iceland , also Elizabeth Iceland called, is a island of Bermuda , located in the Great Sound ( Great Sound ) about three kilometers southwest of the Bermudian capital Hamilton . It is privately owned, but administratively belongs to the Warwick Parish .
Hawkins Island is flat, densely vegetated, about 450 meters long and up to 250 meters wide. Smaller buildings are only on the southeast coast. The island is part of a chain of islands consisting of over 20 islets .
The small, rather inconspicuous Hawkins Island, which can only be reached by boat, is considered Bermuda's party island par excellence by tourists and locals, primarily because of the “Don't Stop the Carnival Party” event that takes place here.
