The Hawler Medical University ( Kurdish زانكۆی ههولێری پزیشكی) is an Iraqi - Kurdish university in Erbil ( Kurdish ھەولێر Hewlêr ). The university's focus is on health sciences .
The university was established in 2005 from the outsourcing of the medical , dental , pharmaceutical and nursing science departments of Salahaddin University .
