Haydn Trio Eisenstadt

The Haydn Trio Eisenstadt is an Austrian piano trio . Harald Kosik (piano), Hannes Gradwohl (violoncello) and Eszter Haffner (violin) play in his current line-up.

The trio takes care of the maintenance and processing of Joseph Haydn's works, gives concerts at home and abroad, has made numerous CD recordings and is pursuing a large number of other projects.

history

The Haydn Trio Eisenstadt was founded in 1992 by Harald Kosik and the brothers Hannes and Bernd Gradwohl, since 1998 Verena Stourzh has performed with the trio instead of Bernd Gradwohl, later this was replaced by Eszter Haffner.

In the current line-up, the trio plays in the chamber music class of the Vienna University of Music with Georg Ebert and Avedis Kouyoumdjian, supplemented by taking part in masterclasses by the Trio di Trieste. In 1994 the ensemble received the honorary diploma for the best piano trio from the renowned Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena . This award led to admission to the Scuola Internazionale di Musica da Camera del Trio di Trieste, where the ensemble completed a two-year course.

Since 1995 the Haydn Trio Eisenstadt has performed the concert cycle Das Klaviertrio in the Haydn Hall of Esterházy Palace during the Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt.

Since 2008, all of Haydn's chamber music works, all 39 piano trios, as well as 429 Scottish songs and all divertimenti and concertini have been recorded on a total of 28 CDs.

Also in 2008 the 18 DedicatedToHaydn piano trios were produced in cooperation with DeutschlandRadio. The piano trios were created with the invitation to 18 composers from all over the world to compose a homage to Haydn in any form and genre.

In 2007 the trio won the Vienna Flute Clock .
