He is the son of He Biao, a high-ranking commander of the Chinese People's Liberation Army .
He Ping is married to Deng Rong , the youngest daughter of the Chinese party leader Deng Xiaoping (1904-1997).
Life
At a young age, He Ping was the deputy military attaché at the Chinese Embassy in the United States. Later he was - with the rank of major general of the People's Liberation Army - Vice President of the China Poly Group , a civil company group of the Chinese military that conducts business from arms to art trade worldwide. He was forced to resign from this post following a scandal over illegal arms deliveries. Today He Ping is President of the Poly Theater in Beijing , home of the China Philharmonic Orchestra , whose president is his own wife Deng Rong.
