The Health and Safety Executive , based in Liverpool , was founded in 1974 and regulates essential areas of occupational safety in Great Britain . This includes, among other things, provisions for first aid and safety when handling devices , machines , substances, hazardous substances and the like. Research is also carried out on security-related topics. Most of the research results are published.

In Germany the occupational health and safety system is based on two pillars. In addition to the state labor protection, there is also the labor protection of the statutory accident insurance carriers (UVT). UVT are the trade associations (BG), the agricultural trade associations and the public accident insurance institutions.
