Lift and slide door

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lift and slide doors are glazed balcony or balcony doors made of wood , plastic , light metal or combinations of these. Compared to a wing door, these allow considerably larger passage openings, thereby ensuring significantly better ventilation and offering the possibility of large-area glazing. Large window fronts in particular can be designed attractively by arranging several wings. Even if it is a sliding door , it can have a very high degree of tightness .

The sash is raised by turning the large handle, lifting the sash out of its sealing position and the rollers / carriages supporting the sliding sash. This can now be pushed into any position and, if desired, lowered again and thus locked . When the sliding sash is closed, the front and rear seals engage in predetermined profiles, when the sliding sash is lowered it presses into its seals at the bottom and the seals at the top press against the guide rail.
