The pike conger (Muraenesocidae, Lat .: muraena = moray, Gr .: esox = pike) are a little-known family of eel-like fish that live in tropical areas of the Atlantic , Pacific and Indian Oceans at depths of ten to 1200 meters.

features

Pike congers are 60 centimeters to 2.50 meters long, depending on the species. The crack in your mouth extends far behind your eyes. They have strong fangs on the vomer and in the front of the lower jaw. Your pectoral fins are well developed, the attachment of the dorsal fin is above or just in front of the pectoral fins. The large eyes are covered with skin, the lateral line is hidden. Pike congers have 120 to 216 vertebrae .
