history

Founder Mark Doyle was employed in the recordings department of the London soul / jazz radio station 102.2 Jazz FM. For a few years he put together some of the station's CD samplers. He was asked by the broadcaster to create a new, trendy brand. In 1999 he founded Hed Kandi as a nocturnal radio show for house music, which also publishes CD samplers and organizes its own nightlife events. The double CDs, designed by cover artist Jason Brooks, were a great success and series of parties now took place in El Divino on Ibiza in addition to England . From 2002 a series followed at the Pacha Club in London. Over the years, house parties have been held under the brand around the world. In addition to the samplers, their own albums or maxis by artists such as Booty Luv or Afterlife were also released.

In 2006 the brand was bought by Ministry of Sound and continued to operate. Founder Mark Doyle left the label and founded his new label Fierce Angel .
