The Heeder See is a former dredging lake and is now a bathing lake in Heede in the Emsland district in Lower Saxony .
Location and nature
It is just outside of Heede, approx. 1 km away from the BAB 31 , Dörpen exit. It borders directly on the federal highway 401 . The lake has a water surface of approx. 12 hectares and a 700 m long beach.
Events
The lake became famous through the annual festival "Heeder See in Flammen", which traditionally takes place on the first weekend in August of each year. In recent years, around 10,000 people have attended the festival with four large marquees right on the water, attractions around the lake and fireworks.

- Waterski / wakeboard facility: For some years now, a 1 km long waterski facility with a 960 m long circulating rope has been in operation on Lake Heed. It is considered one of the largest in Europe. The Blue Bay water ski facility offers the experience of wakeboarding and water skiing for beginners and professionals on crystal clear water in front of a wonderful beach backdrop.
