The Heel Verlag was in 1980 in Bonn - Oberkassel founded. The first publication item was the Konzert-Almanach , an annual compilation of all concert dates for classical music in Germany.

Heel-Verlag employs 30 people and with an annual turnover of around 7 million euros, the publisher is one of the top 100 publishers in Germany. The company headquarters is today in Gut Pottscheid in Königswinter . It publishes around 80 new publications and 30 calendars every year.

Barbecue and technology topics (automobiles, vintage cars, motorcycles, aviation, maritime, railroad) are the specialty. There are also books on films or television series, guides, cookbooks, music books or watch books and the four magazines wristwatches , Ferrari World , Porsche drivers and MIXX .

In addition to the classic publishing business, Heel is increasingly active in corporate publishing (company chronicles, anniversary volumes and other collaborations with a wide variety of companies).
