Yeast melt

Yeast melt is a dairy-free cheese substitute . It is basically a thickened sauce made from yeast flakes , flour , margarine , water, mustard and spices. The ingredients are mixed dry and then boiled in a pan with water. The melt can be used as a spread or for gratinating pizza and casseroles.

Another preparation option is made similar to roux, in which you add the yeast flakes, mustard and spices.
