Nutritional yeast
Nutritional yeast is inactivated by heat yeast that have a relatively high nutritional value and especially high in vitamin B has. It will among other things as Nährhefeflocken (also Edelhefeflocken or simply nutritional yeast called) or sold as a powder, and is one of the typical ingredients of vegetarian and vegan cuisine .
Nutritional yeast is often used as a cheese substitute to make a dish creamier and give it a "cheesy" flavor. It is used in the vegan versions of pizzas and omelets , as well as soups , stews and casseroles , and sometimes it is processed into yeast melt beforehand .
Nutritional yeast is a basic ingredient for many types of vegetarian spreads . Yeast hydrolysates such as the British Marmite and the Australian Vegemite , in Switzerland Cenovis , which are used as flavor enhancers because of their high content of glutamates and inosinates , are particularly well known.
