Ana Veloso

Ana Veloso (* 1964 in Koblenz ) is a German author and journalist .

Veloso studied Romance Studies in Rio de Janeiro and then lived for several years in Brazil , where she spent a long time on a coffee plantation while researching her first novel .

Based on this experience, she wrote her first novel in 2005, the family saga The Scent of Coffee Blossom . The book developed into an international bestseller and has since been translated into several languages. With this book, Veloso was one of the official candidates for the 2007 LiBeraturpreis .

She currently lives and works in Hamburg .
