Heidelberg painter
The Attic vase painter of the black-figure style , with the emergency name Heidelberg painter , also known as Heidelberg painter , who lived between 575 and 555 BC. Chr. Was active, is one of the most important representatives of Sianaschalen painters.
Alongside the C painter, the Heidelberg painter is considered to be the most important representative of this style. He is generally regarded as the more highly developed artist, who, however, had a much smaller range of variation than the C painter. Unlike many other vase painters of his time, he attached great importance to the representation of figures, which he was also able to depict in a remarkable way, which obviously shows a high standard of himself. His figures are very detailed, but not infrequently also drawn very fleetingly. His earlier works are reminiscent of those of the Komasten group , his later ones of the Amasis painter . It was named after several pieces attributed to it in the Museum of Antiquities at Heidelberg University . His name vase shows an assembly of gods .
