Heidrun Walther

Heidrun Walther (born March 13, 1952 in Spielfeld ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and a former member of the Austrian National Council .

education and profession

Walther attended elementary school from 1958 to 1962 and graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium in 1970 with the Matura. From 1970 she studied German and French at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz .

Between 1977 and 1978 Walther was a librarian at the University Library of the University of Graz and in 1978 switched to the University Library of the Technical University of Graz as a librarian . In 1997 she was given the official title of Official Director.

politics

Heidrun Walther has been a councilor in Spielfeld since 1995 and was elected mayor in 1999. Since 1997 she has been deputy district party chairwoman of the SPÖ Leibnitz and district women chairwoman of the SPÖ Leibnitz. In 1997 she was elected to the state party executive, since 2002 she has also been a member of the state women's executive committee. Walther represented the SPÖ between December 20, 2002 and October 29, 2006 in the National Council.

Private

Walther has been married since 1980 and has two sons. She was born the daughter of a farmer and a housewife.
