Heike Roth

Heike Maria Roth , married Heike Maria Peters (born September 8, 1968 in Trier ) is a former German basketball player. The 1.93 meter tall center player was Germany's basketball player of the year four times (1990, 1991, 1992, 1995).

career

Roth, who comes from Trier, is one of the best German basketball players ever. Height of her club career was the 1995-96 season, when they with BTV Wuppertal the Europe League , won the German championship and the German Cup competition. In 1997 she reached the final of the Europa League again with Wuppertal, and in 1998 with Pool Getafe Madrid. After her time in Spain she played for Cari Parma in Italy.

National team

Between 1987 and 2001 Roth played 172 international A matches for Germany and was part of the German squad for the 1998 World Cup in their own country as well as for the 1995, 1997 and 1999 European Championships. At EM 97 she won bronze with the DBB selection, at the World Cup In 98, Roth shone as the fourth best scorer in the tournament (17.1 points per game).
