Heiko Holtmeier

Heiko Holtmeier (* 1969 in Lingen (Ems) ) is a German church musician , pianist and organist .

Life

Holtmeier was born in Lingen in 1969 and graduated from the Gymnasium Georgianum (Lingen (Ems)) in 1989 . At the age of 15 he began studying the piano with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling , whose pupil Holtmeier was later at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. This was followed by a study of church music with the main subject organ (B-exam) in Berlin at the Archbishopric Church Music School with Lothar Knappe . He completed his church music education with the A-exam at the University of the Arts with Uwe Gronostay (choir conductor) and Leo van Doeselaar (organ) as well as the concert exam for organ. This was followed by a soloist diploma in harpsichord and historical keyboard instruments with Mitzi Meyerson .

Since then Holtmeier has given concerts as an organist, pianist and harpsichordist, performing both as a soloist and in a chamber music ensemble. As a soloist he appeared in the Berlin Konzerthaus and the Berlin Philharmonic under Georg Solti and Jörg-Peter Weigle . He holds the office of church musician at the Dominican Church of St. Paul in Berlin.
