The former bathroom is now a pretty house.

The Heilbad im Silbertal (about 900  m above sea level ) was a medicinal bath located in the municipality of Silbertal in Vorarlberg , Austria in the "Bädli" plot in the district of Aussertal in the Silbertal area.

history

The beginning of the use of the mineral spring in the Silbertal, in the district of Aussertal, is not known. The bath is indirectly mentioned in the Emser Chronicle of 1616. The operator of the pool, Ulrich Loretz, commissioned the Feldkirch city doctor to analyze the therapeutic bath water. The result was published in 1687 in the booklet Brief Description of the Occasion and the Origin of the Silver Throat Healing Fountain and Bath .

It is not known when the swimming pool was closed. In any case, the bath was closed in 1905.

Bathing and healing spring

The healing spring used was a cold iron-containing sulfur spring (similar to the springs at the Tilisunabad in Tschagguns ), possibly with copper admixtures. The climax of the use of the mineral spring was in the 17th century, although it was largely only of regional importance.

In Eduard Jos Koch's treatise from 1843: “ A treatise on mineral springs in a general scientific relationship and description of all baths and wells known in the Austrian monarchy ”, the bath is no longer mentioned. Josef Zehenter mentions the bath in the Silbertal in Vorarlberg's mineral springs in 1895 and notes that the bathing establishment was in use earlier.

The bath house is still preserved today and has been owned by the same family since 1905 and has been used as a residence. There is nothing left of the previous bathroom installation.

Geography / topography

Next to the Bädli parcel in the Silbertal is the approximately 750 m long Badtobel, which runs largely from north to south. The Badtobel brook has its source at Kristberg (Trenkhus parcel) and flows into the Litz at water kilometers (GwKm) 5.71 .

The former bath house with house no. Außenertal 77 is located around GwKm 0.21 of the Badtobelbach, around 170 m above the Landesstraße (L 95) or 100 m above the Innerbergerstraße (L 94).
