history
The Holy Cross community in Berlin-Kreuzberg bought land in Mariendorf , which at that time still belonged to the Teltow district, and inaugurated the cemetery there in 1890. 1892-1893 the cemetery chapel planned by the town building inspector Gustav Erdmann was built as a neo-Gothic brick building. The cemetery attendant's house next to the main entrance was built in 1893-1894 and the brick-built entrance gate decorated with mosaics was built in 1902-1903.
Since 2003 the Greek Orthodox Cemetery The Resurrection has been located in part of the cemetery.
The cemetery, the chapel with the morgue, the house of the cemetery attendant as well as the enclosure and the portal are under monument protection.
