Holy Spirit (Pivitsheide)

Heilig Geist is a Roman Catholic church in the Detmold district of Pivitsheide VL. It is a subsidiary church of Heilig Kreuz and thus structurally belongs to the Detmold pastoral association of the Bielefeld-Lippe dean's office in the Archdiocese of Paderborn . It was created between 1963 and 1964 based on plans by Aloys Sonntag .
architecture
The church with its compact floor plan is covered by a pent roof that rises to the chancel. A lower chapel is built on one side. The solitary church tower rises on a rectangular floor plan and is connected to the church by a canopy. The tower is covered by a flat roof and has smaller sound openings in the upper area.
Inside the church, the wooden ceiling rises to the chancel. The back wall of the chancel is divided into three parts, the middle part being offset to the rear and plastered in white, while the outer parts are faced with yellowish bricks.
Furnishing
The furnishings include a tabernacle on the left and a statue of the Virgin by Heinz Bergkemper on the right of the chancel. On the back wall of the altar there is a painting of the sending of the spirit by Josef Jost . He also made the glass windows next to the portal.
