The Holy Spirit Altar (also an altar shrine with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost ) in St. Michael in Schwäbisch Hall is a carved altar that was created around 1520.

description

The altarpiece shows the pouring out of St. Spirit at Pentecost . Mary sits in the middle surrounded by 15 disciples, all of whom are crowned with fiery tongues of the Holy Spirit. The dove of the Holy Spirit in the crown of the arch. The four wing reliefs show the entry into Jerusalem at the top left, the unbelieving Thomas at the top right , the Ascension of Christ at the bottom left and the death of Mary at the bottom right . The predella shows the Lord's Supper . The washing of the feet was formerly painted on the outside of a wing .
