The Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church in La Villeneuve-Saint-Martin , a district of the French commune of Ableiges in the Val-d'Oise department in the Île-de-France region , was built in the 13th century. The building has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique since 1931 .

history

The church, which has been owned by the political community since the French Revolution , was supposed to be demolished because it was in disrepair . The municipality of Ableiges, to which the hamlet of La Villeneuve-Saint-Martin belongs, finally had the structure restored in the 1990s.

description

The nave consists of two bays , one aisle is no longer preserved. Only the northern yoke of the transept remains. The choir has a five-eighth end and is covered with a ribbed vault. The bell tower has a gable roof .

In the church there is a wooden crucifix from the 16th century.
