The Heilpädagogische Hilfe Osnabrück (HHO) is a provider of assistance for the disabled in the Osnabrück region.

Divisions

HHO accompanies around 3,500 people in its various corporate divisions. With 80 locations, it is one of the larger providers of services for people with disabilities in the Osnabrück region. Beyond the Osnabrück region, the HHO fulfills the task of supporting and accompanying people with hearing impairments in fixed and mobile advice centers. 1,700 employees work u. a. in educational and support institutions, in institutions for vocational rehabilitation in various forms of housing and care, in counseling and in administration.

The HHO is the umbrella organization of the free welfare organization: Diakonisches Werk Evangelischer Kirchen in Niedersachsen e. V. (DWiN) and member of Lebenshilfe Niedersachsen e. V.

HHO Wohnen gGmbH

At HHO Wohnen gGmbH, people with disabilities receive assistance services. This includes housing for around 640 people in houses of various sizes at 28 locations in the city and district of Osnabrück. In addition, around 960 people with mental, physical or psychological disabilities are supported in their own homes by the outpatient assistance, the outpatient psychiatric care and / or the outpatient care service. The services of HHO Wohnen gGmbH are person-centered and networked with each other and in the respective social area. In addition to barrier-free or wheelchair-accessible houses and apartment buildings that are specifically geared towards the needs of hearing-impaired people with disabilities (Karl-Luhmann-Heime), the WirQuartier is a residential offering in which people with disabilities live together with students.

HHO Childhood & Youth gGmbH

The HHO Kindheit & Jugend gGmbH looks after around 800 children and young people in facilities for youth and integration assistance with a focus on education , inclusion , integration , curative education , speech therapy and therapy . Methodical and practical approaches such as B. Montessori education , forest and nature education , learn stories and Marte Meo flank the educational work. The range of offers includes early intervention and development advice, day-care centers for children aged 0 to 6 years, a recognized day-care center according to § 164 Nds. School law and an interdisciplinary outpatient clinic.

Osnabrücker Werkstätten gGmbH

Osnabrücker Werkstätten gGmbH ensures that people with disabilities participate in working life. 2,200 employees with a mental , emotional and / or physical handicap receive vocational training and an adequate job. In addition to the original concept of workshops for disabled people (WfbM) , new models have the task of preparation, placement and integration into the general labor market. These outsourced jobs can be found in cooperation companies, cafeterias and in our own integration company OSNA-Integ. Fields of activity are electronics, garden maintenance, wood and metal processing, assembly and packaging, gastronomy and service as well as office services.

OSNA-Integ gGmbH

The aim of the integration company OSNA-Integ is to offer disabled people employment subject to social security contributions and to place them on the primary labor market. There are currently around 20 employees working at OSNA-Integ. OSNA-Integ includes OSNA Green in Form, OSNA Alu in Form, OSNA Color in Form and the nah & frisch markets.

Advice centers for the hearing impaired

On behalf of the State of Lower Saxony, the general social counseling centers support hearing-impaired people on all questions of daily life. In the integration specialist service on behalf of the Integration Office Lower Saxony, the advice centers support people with hearing impairments in their working life. As a recognized care association, the social workers of the counseling centers take on legal support for all areas of responsibility of the Care Act. Advice centers are located in Osnabrück, Emden, Hanover and Oldenburg and mobile advice centers in Aurich, Hildesheim, Leer, Nienburg and Papenburg and the north. Approximately 10,000 consultations take place each year. The advisory services are barrier-free. The social workers are proficient in sign language and the offer is confidential and usually free of charge. In Hanover, the offer of the counseling centers is supplemented by an EUTB counseling center (supplementary independent participation advice according to the Federal Participation Act).

In 1960 curative educational aid Osnabrück e. V. In 1961, day-care center work began. In 1962 the Osnabrück workshops “Protective workshop” started operating (since 1998 “Osnabrücker Werkstätten gGmbH”). In 1971 the dormitory work began. 1977 was the foundation of the Freizeitwerk. 1985 saw the start of outpatient work in the living area. In 2005 the integration company "OSNA-Integ gGmbH" was founded. In 2006 the first supermarket of OSNA-Integ gGmbH was opened (CAP market today near & fresh). In the same year the KunstContainer was founded and the HHO Foundation a year later. In 2009 the legal structure of the association was changed to a holding structure. In 2009 the opening of the StadtGalerieCafé was. WirQuartier opened in 2015. In 2016 there was an association to help people with hearing impairments. In December 2018, the Stadtgalerie Café and the HHO Present moved to the new joint premises "Am Markt in Osnabrück" and under the new name "Stadtgalerie Café + Contor".
