Hellmut Kienzle clock collection

Also on the second floor is a collection of high-quality clocks from the 16th to 19th centuries, which was created by the clock manufacturer Hellmut Kienzle in the 50s and 60s. The exhibits come from all the major German watchmaking centers and are each placed in different cultural-historical contexts, from the metaphorization of the clockwork to explain the functioning of the world, the state and the human body to forgeries and collector's items. The Hellmut Kienzle watch museum was opened in February 1961.
