The Heimatbund Allgäu eV (HBA) is the non-profit umbrella organization of the associations that maintain local history in the broadest sense in the Allgäu and parts of Central Swabia (landscape and nature conservation, preservation of monuments and traditions, as well as of costume, music and amateur play, local research, museums, dialect, Tourism). It is the only association that covers the Allgäu and large parts of Central Swabia across all administrative boundaries. It is entered in the register of associations of the Kempten (Allgäu) district court (VR 47). The association publishes its Heimat Allgäu magazine every quarter .

history

The first plans to introduce an association for Allgäuer Heimatvereine were made on February 23, 1948. There were, among others, Alfred Weitenauer and Otto noted at a founding meeting to the then as a home service Allgäu designated home club Kempten restructure. Restructuring was not possible due to restrictions imposed by the American military government , and so the founding fathers decided to register the association as an association on December 7, 1948. The association also joined the Kempten local association.

designation

The predecessor institution was the Allgäu Heimatdienst association . The simultaneous similar designation of today's Heimatverein Kempten as Heimatdienst Allgäu causes confusion .
