Heimo Vorderegger (born July 3, 1966 in Villach ) is an Austrian football player and coach .
Player career
Stations of his career were the SK Austria Klagenfurt / FC Kärnten , VSE St. Pölten , BSV Juniors Villach , FC St. Veit and SK Maria Saal (2005/06, but also 2008/09 and he has played again since January 2010 at SK Maria Saal ). In 2007/08 he played at SC Keutschach in 2nd class C and in autumn 2009 for SV Union Gurk in the lowest divisions of Carinthia.
With FC Kärnten he made it to the Bundesliga and won the ÖFB Cup.
Heimo Vorderegger's playing career ended in a motorcycle accident on the evening of July 12, 2010. He collided with a car and his right lower leg had to be amputated.
Coaching career
He ended his career at SK Maria Saal, where he was also active as a player-coach. He also briefly coached FC St. Veit . He was recently the section head of SK Austria Klagenfurt and will be named as the sporting director of SG Drautal in the Lower League West from 2015/16 .
Others
Vorderegger was a figurehead, especially during his time as a player at Austria Klagenfurt , which is why the Carinthian print media of that time adorned him with the nickname Hercules .
