The Heinrich Dammann Foundation in Söhlde to promote Protestant youth work in the area of ​​the regional church of Hanover and general youth work was founded in 1991 by Heinrich and Ortrud Dammann. Heinrich Dammann died in Hildesheim in 2013 at the age of 88, his wife Ortrud at 90 the following year. At the end of their lives they decided to transfer their estate to the foundation as well. The foundation is one of the largest church foundations in Germany that promote youth work.

The foundation focuses on the participation of young people, the networking of those responsible for youth work and the development of pioneering youth work in rural areas .

Board

The board members are appointed by the board of trustees and work on an honorary basis. The executive board is responsible for carrying out the work of the foundation in accordance with the statutes and the guidelines to be issued by it for the allocation of foundation income. The board consists of seven members.

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees monitors the activities of the Executive Board and advises the Executive Board on all matters incumbent on it. The members of the board of trustees work on a voluntary basis. The board of trustees consists of 6 members.

The managing director of the foundation is Thomas Schlichting. The foundation's office is located at Bahnhofsallee 9, 31134 Hildesheim.
